Riot games on the official league of legends wild rift website have published March 2021 developers talk. In this post, Alan Moore, the director of the League of Legends: Wild Rift, talked about latency, matchmaking, and hacking issues, how new champions will be introduced in the game, and much more. Let’s dig deep and find out every detail that has been shared with the players over these topics.
Matchmaking issues
The dev said they have been constantly monitoring and making adjustments to matchmaking. Their aim is to limit the rank spread, which basically means that as per your rank you should not be matched against/with any player with more than one tier gap. For example: If you are in Bronze you won’t be matched against gold players and vice-versa.
The developers said that overall they want to make the matchmaking system in such a way that both teams matched against each other are equally skilled, which will make the match both fair and fun. At the same time, they want to cut down the matchmaking time.

The developers are also working on a better matchmaking system where players will be matched with/against other geographically closer located players, which will reduce the lag in the game.
Latency issues
Talking about Lag, Alan Moore said that everybody hates lag. The developers have noticed that many Wild Rift players have been facing constant high ping issues, and they are working hard to improve the situation (basically, they will add more servers all across the globe). However, most of the time, lags are caused by the user end, so users can also try to get on high-speed internet, and the problem should be minimized if not solved.
Cheating
Riot Games has clearly stated that they have a zero-tolerance policy against hackers and cheaters. The developers are always working hard to counter cheaters, cheats, and the people who make them. And in simple words, they have stated that if anyone is found hacking, cheating in Wild Rift, then he/she will be permanently banned from the game.

Launching in more regions
Wild Rift is still not a global game. The game is still in open beta and has been launched only in selected countries, mainly in Europe and South-East Asia. However, if you have read our last post on the game, you would already know that Wild Rift is scheduled to release in the Americas on March 29, 2021. However, what about other regions and countries? The developers have said that they can’t promise a date, but they are trying their best to release the game in all countries around the world ASAP.
New champions
Everything else was ok, but being an avid player of Wild Rift, this is what caught my eye. So Riot Games has confirmed that through 2021, two new champions will release every new month in Wild Rift.
