League of Legends: Wild Rift is finally about to launch in the Americas. However, it’s not that straightforward; the Americas servers will be quite different. So if you live in either North or South America, you need to read this post.
Wild Rift to release in Americas this month
As we mentioned two months back in one of our previous posts, League of Legends: Wild Rift will release in Brazil, LATAM, and North America this month. Today, Riot Games on the official twitter handle of Wild Rift has announced exact date of launch, which is March 29, 2021.

No cross-play between America and other Servers
Riot Games has announced that the Wild Rift Americas servers use a completely different infrastructure from the rest of the world. This means that the players from North and South America will play on a different server. Thus, these players will not be able to play with players outside the region. For example, A player from the USA will not be able to play with a player from Asia.
What will happen to players from the Americas already playing Wild Rift?
Players from the Americas that have been playing Wild Rift using VPNs will be sad to hear this, but once the game launches in the Americas, you will be asked to migrate your account on the Americas server. This means that all your in-game progression will be lost, and you will have to start fresh from level 1.
Bonus events for Americas server
One good thing is that Riot Games has accepted that Wild Rift has been available in Asia and Europe for a long time now. This means that the players on the Americas server will be left behind. And to solve this issue, the developers have announced that they will be giving away bonuses, more champions, items and host more in-game events to help players grow quickly on the Americas server.

So that is everything you need to know about Wilf Rift Americas launch. You can also check out the official blog post for more details about this.
