Asian Games 2022

Previously in Asian Games 2018, E-Sports was organized as an Exhibition sport. Today, every gamer can feel proud to hear E-Sports as an official category in the upcoming Asian Games which is arranged to be held in Hangzhou, China. Olympic Federationselected Hong Kong-based Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) to oversee the E-Sports segment in the Asian Games. The mobile games which will be played in this tournament are Arena of Valor, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, and none other than PUBG Mobile. Before this event gets going, Tencent, the Chinese corporate giant, has organized a polling system to pick the best team according to the common people as representatives of China at the 2022 Asian Games stage.

Team China

PUBG Mobile is banned in China. So, Tencent is working on a special Asian version of the game called “Game for Peace”. The game will comply with the country’s legal hurdles and launch the version specially for the event. On Weibo, the Chinese alternative to Twitter, Tencent has welcomed votes from people to decide who will represent China on the grand stage. As per the official post on Weibo by Tencent, Team Nova, the champion of PUBG Global Tournament of 2020 is leading at the pole position with around 182 million votes. They are way ahead of second-placed LGD gaming who is currently sitting at 20 million votes.

Order and Paraboy, widely considered to be the top players of the game, along with Jimmy who is also one of the most successful players, will be playing with IGL, King, and Qc. Team Nova is considered arguably to be the best team not only in Asia but also in the world. LGD Gaming is not lagging in quality either. With players like ChengC and Suki on their team along with Nashi, Kuai Xiu, and Mao Mao, they form one of the most tactically diverse team in the tournament.

Same For Arena Of Valor

Tencent has followed the same tactic for Arena of Valor as well. They are inviting votes to represent China on the grand stage as Asian Teams fight it out to become the First Champion of E-Sports in Asian Games. It will certainly go down in the history books and no team will hold back! Wolves Esports has come out as the leading candidates with a lead of 2 million votes over their closest rivals All Gamers(AG). Wolves Esports is managed by none other than the legendary English soccer club, Wolverhampton Wanderers. Read more about it here.

Will Nova Win It Again?

With so many different teams and countries going head-to-head with each other, the inaugural tournament will be a massive feat for E-Sports. Being the host country, China will certainly have an edge since they are more familiar with the mechanics of the gameplay. And with Team Nova having already tasted success on such events, they will be itching to prove their worth again.
