Old School RuneScape is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that was released by Jagex Game Studio in 2013. This was a re-release of RuneScape which came out in 2007. The game features a virtual world named Gielinor, where players interact with each other, NPCs, and various objects in the environment. You will also receive EXP points which you can use to upgrade your character’s skills. You can download the game for free via Google Play or the App Store.
Even though the game came out almost a decade ago, there are still new players joining the game. But with the old game mechanic and so many components in the game, it’s needless to say that the game can be a little hard for the beginners to get a grasp of. In this article, I will share 5 tips with you that will guide you through the game.
Tips for Old School RuneScape
1. Pay Attention to The Tutorial
As I have said before the game is filled with various components like skills to train and quests to complete, it can become confusing for you if you don’t learn from the beginning. As the game starts, after you have customized your character, it takes you through a tutorial the game. Make sure to pay attention to every single dialogue on the screen. The tutorial is crucial in this game as it gives a basic understanding of the game.

2. Choose Your Skill
Following the tutorial also gives you a primary understanding of the skills in this game. But that is not enough to progress in this game as there is a large selection of skills divided mainly between three categories which are, Combat, Gathering, and Artisan. Players will have to decide for themselves which skills they want to focus on. In the end, there isn’t really a ‘best’ way to level up your character. You will find some quests that require you to have a certain level of skill. You can also choose to level up these skills.
3. Choosing Quests
After you are done with the tutorial you will be introduced to the actual game with little understanding and no direction to follow. The best thing to do at this point in the game is to work on different quests. But, completion of each quest gives you different types of EXP which you can use to work on different skills. So, which quests you choose to play at the beginning is also important. As a beginner, you should start by playing one of these quests: Cook’s Assistant, The Restless Ghost, Sheep Shearer, or The Knight’s Sword.

4. Make Friends
Making friends is important in Old School RuneScape. Apart from chatting to make the game more interactive, making friends have much more advantages in the game. For example, your in-game friends can help you fight difficult enemies or other players. You can also trade or sell items to them. So, be sure to make friends in the game as soon as possible.
5. Choose Your Adventure Path
Being an open-world game, Old School RuneScape has a lot of directions to explore. But, as I have said before there is no ‘best’ way to play the game so, there is no wrong path to choose. You can follow any path you like. However, if you are confused between Combat Path and Gatherer Path and want to know which one to choose if you’re a beginner always choose Combat Path. There are many more and better missions on this path than the other. In addition to that, you also earn a Combat Path Starter Kit that includes weapons, armor, and some other stuff.
Follow these tips while playing Old School RuneScape, and you should be able to progress much faster. I hope you enjoyed reading the article. Let me know your opinion in the comment section. For more mobile gaming guides stay tuned to Mobile Gaming Hub.
