More In-Depth On The Accounts Banned In Free Fire
The game’s esports component has also grown in popularity, with the just-finished Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore garnering a record-breaking peak viewership of 5.4 million.
Despite its success, however, the game has encountered significant challenges in the form of cheats and hackers who employ third-party software to obtain an unfair edge over other players.
To combat this, Garena has implemented an anti-cheat system that detects and bans users who use third-party software. The system has done a good job of regulating and keeping cheats in control.
Garena also urges legal gamers to report any cheats they come across in-game. The developers also offer bi-weekly reports that describe the number of accounts that have been banned and the kind of cheats that have been used.
According to a newly published study, Free Fire banned a total of 1,124,505 accounts for cheating. Due to reports from legitimate gamers, about 7,12,936 (63.4 percent) of these accounts were blocked.
Furthermore, 22,495 accounts were banned after it was discovered that they were collaborating with the cheats.
