Epic Games’ Fortnite is a fast-paced multiplayer shooting game; it has taken the gaming world by storm by introducing its game on a mobile platform. It’s where you shoot players, build constructs, loot, pillage, compete with friends and players from around the globe; pitted against time and in a play area that constantly keeps getting smaller and smaller.
Shifting from its usual pc and console platform to a smaller version compatible with mobile devices for Fortnite, means adapting and adjusting to a touch screen and new set of controls which are more complex as compared to its counterparts. The new scaled-down version of Fortnite has its own unique sets of controls, but it has its own sets of differences that take a little getting used to.
So if you’re looking forward to outlive all of the other 99 players, here are some important tips and tricks for Fortnite that will give you an upper hand over them.
1 Change the Button layout to what suits your gaming style
The very first thing to do is to find out what button layout suits you the best. Fortnite allows players to change the button layout to the player’s convenience. On a pc or a console, there is a set layout on the controllers or the keyboards, but for a mobile device, users can toggle with almost all of the on-screen buttons to their liking.

2 Try playing with the touch- control sensitivity
Epic Games has made the sensitivity response in Fortnite absolutely seamless. Though the experience may differ from user to user, and for that players can tweak with the settings according to their own gaming experience preferences. Try experimenting with the different settings before you settle with one mode, I would personally recommend moving the slider to 60 to make the movements more smooth and easier to use.

3 Use earphone/headphones
A player’s best friends in Fortnite are their ears, the earlier you are able to hear the danger before you see it the better. In public, there may be a chance that you may play the game with the sound off, and Epic games foresaw the possibility of this happening, hence they added a feature where the screen has a visual sensor of oncoming danger.
But personally, I’d recommend you using headphones or earphones for the best gaming experience; they’ll give you a better sense of the surroundings.

4 Learn to build fast
One way to stay safe is always to keep building! Keep constructing walls and barriers to stay protected. In order to do that you need to keep on harvesting wood, metal, and bricks by constantly hacking at trees, buildings, cars, and rocks with your axe.
When the game area keeps getting smaller and when there are very few players left in the game, playing on defense may prove to your advantage.

5 Communicate with players
Playing solo will not always guarantee a win. Working together as a team and playing together is the success to winning and can also be fun. Discussing drops, coordinating plans of attack, sharing ammo; when with teammates in the same room, using the voice chat to your advantage can make the difference.

6 Plan your game of action
A handy tip – plan out your route in the loading area before you do anything. Rather than aimlessly roaming about the entire map; it is best that you pick up a spot along the path the bus is taking and accordingly planning your landing. A little planning ahead will save you a lot of trouble later on.

7 Learn from spectating
Getting offed earlier than you planned can suck for sure, but there is a lesson in this as well. Rather than quitting like a sore loser, you need to swallow that warrior pride and observe the surviving players in spectator mode. Doing this often teaches you newer and better strategies for outlasting your enemies.
I personally picked up quite a few tricks that I never considered before after a few unplanned deaths in the game.
