Warhammer: Odyssey MMORPG is an old-school fantasy 3D MMORPG developed and launched by the folks at Virtual Realms Ltd for both Android and iOS. This Role-Playing Game aims to deliver a classic and old school MMO gaming experience as players immerse themselves in the Old World, Warhammer’s large fantasy land. The game sets itself apart, as it not an auto-battler like the majority of the mobile MMORPGs. As players explore this fantasy land, the game promises a ton of action, thrill, glory, and nostalgia. Let us now jump to the review and see what’s in store for us.
The Gameplay
Warhammer: Odyssey’s comes with pretty straightforward and traditional gameplay, just like most of the classic PC MMORPG games, making it surprisingly easy to follow. Upon launching the game, you are presented with the choice of selecting a character, with the characters being class-based. The game has a total of six character classes: Archmage, Warrior Priest, Shadow Warrior, Engineer, Slayer, and Witch Hunter. Each class features battle styles unique to themselves, and an additional twelve specializations. Each of the characters also comes with six stats, which you have to invest into, based on the needs, and they are Weapon Skill, Leadership, Focus, Accuracy, Initiative, and Wounds.

The game involves your character exploring the large Old World, which is under threat from Moorslieb, the Chaos moon. Thus, your character has to undertake journeys to numerous locations, accept quests, talk to NPCs while also getting to team up with other players and forging odysseys with them to complete quests. Each quest comes filled with varying obstacles, challenges, and objectives, which give way to rewards and experience once you finish them. The game also comes with an Auction House, where players can sell their loot, rewards, and other items, allowing them to become a Master of Commerce.
The Controls
Since Warhammer: Odyssey is not an auto-battle RPG, the game provides a good amount of control and interaction. A virtual joystick on the bottom-left part of the screen facilitates the character’s movement in the desired direction, whereas towards the other end, we find four circular buttons. The large circular button serves multiple purposes, from talking to NPCs, dealing with basic attacks, and engaging with items, while the smaller three buttons deliver different attacks unique to each hero. Getting familiar with the controls of the game is quite an easy affair and poses no hindrance.

The Graphics
The in-game graphics and animation are certainly not the best in its class, but the overall look and feel is quite good, and passes as above average. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world, and this is quite evident as the architecture, NPCs, and other elements depict it in good fashion. The characters are also quite pleasing to the eyes and show an excellent amount of texture and details, be it in the armor, weapons, facial features, etc. The game’s overall graphics carry an old-school vibe to it, bringing in the sense of nostalgia, and this, for me, makes it stand out.

In Conclusion
Warhammer: Odyssey MMORPG tries to bring in a more traditional approach to the mobile RPG genre, unlike most of its counterparts which are all into auto-battle. The traditional approach may not be for all, but this trait makes it a unique offering, making it highly immersive and interactive. At the same time, this same traditional approach might be a turn-off for many, as it is relatively slow and time-consuming when compared with auto-battle RPGs. However, the game is bound to get more updates and improvements down the line. You can download Warhammer: Odyssey MMORPG from both the Google Play and App Store.
