Stone Grass – Mowing Simulator is another ‘pass-the-time’ casual game, where you mow increasingly tougher – yet more expensive – hay in an upgradable mower. Here you will find the best tips to get started quickly and progress the levels in no time.

Push up as far as you can
Upon leaving the starting area, the rest of the island is filled with hay, the different colours signifying a greater difficulty. At the start of every level, push as far up as either your mower or your patience allows, and stick with that type of hay. The tougher it is, the more expensive it is, so no need to waste time grovelling in the lower levels.

Channel your inner snake
Whilst harvesting, you may find that trudging on through the resistant baldes of, apparently, adamantium can’t be all there is to it. And you’d be right! Swaying sharply from side to side allows you to swathe through the meadow, cutting more hay in a wider area. In the game, the grass only seems to resist your mower from the front, so flanking the hay in a sharp cutting manoeuvre allows you to get around their defences.
Square it off
During your mowing escapades, it is essential to keep organized, to prevent your field from becoming a mess of stray strands of hay and littered with money-to-be bales. To keep sane when severing substantially-sized levels, there are a couple techniques to keep organized. One such method, is to mentally cut the fields into different squares, which is assisted by the blocky arrangement of each level. Once you’ve fully mowed a square, double back to collect all the dropped bales.
Alternatively, you can use the colours of hay to differentiate the sections. Going around the edges of your chosen colour and spiralling inwards is one way to keep organized, but can fall short when your storage gets full, or you need to go back in an awkward spiral pattern to collect your spoils. Such cases is why I would recommend the former method of taming your fields, but feel free to choose what you deem the most effective.
Don’t save your money – spend!
Stone Grass gifts you with seven elements to upgrade, so upgrade! It is tempting to leave spending your money until you’ve filled your truck or finished that last path of hay. But, in doing this, you start to lag behind what you could potentially be doing – mowing even more hay! heading back regularly when you’ve banked enough cash allows you to constantly be upgrading, pushing you further and faster into the more challenging yet lucrative fields.

Appreciate your truck and trolley
During your shopping spree, don’t be enticed to focus primarily on your blades, as awesome as it is. Don’t forget to upgrade your wheels and storage, so you don’t have to commute back and forth as much, and when you do, it’ll be a lot faster. It does become debilitating if you only focus on your saws, a healthy balance is always required, especially when the levels start to grow and trips become more tedious.
Head for two stars, not three
Stone Grass is separated into several levels. For you completionists out there, it would be hard to leave a level without completing it. Trust me, I know. But if you want to get started quickly, then it would be advised to leave a level once two stars have been achieved, not three. This way, you receive a large money injection and feel less shameful once you leave the field in pursuit of another, with even more money for upgrades to get you going quickly. If it does bother you, then just come back later – the field will always be there. And besides, with a stronger mower, it will be even more satisfying raking the old fields to 100% completion.
If you follow these tips, you’ll find your truck filled with all colours of hay before you know it. Any helpful tips not here? Feel free to add them below.
