Steel And Flesh 2: How can anyone miss the opportunity to visit the middle ages when the Mongol empire rose in Asia and the Crusades were stomping all over the middle east. You have a massive map at your disposal, and wait, there’s more; you also get the right to swear allegiance to any other state or become a king yourself with the right strategy. The battles are realistic, 3D, and breathtaking; you can also check out the siege of fortresses, armors weapons, etc. Enough chattering about the game now; let’s begin with the tips that would allow you to expand your empire and boost your middle ages experiences.
Tip #1 – Build Your Character
You can opt wither for single-player or multiplayer against AI. By default, you will see that default; only the game comes with 13th-century settings that range from simple facial expressions to expansions. Although the campaign is vast, the limited continents are Europe, Asia, and a few portions of Africa, and it’s similar to Total War Medieval 2 in terms of gameplay.
You can select your type of difficulty, and I would recommend the beginning. To start with low difficulty because this way, you will be able to understand the game instead of just roaming all around the place.
Some of the basics you should know are:
- Fighting Spirit: In battles, you need this to win if it’s too low, it’ll be over for you
- Food Stocks: You must keep your army well-fed for the best performances in battle
- Forage Stocks: food for animals keeping
- Skills-limit Equipment: minimum skill value to use a particular weapon
- Squad Stamina: If you exhaust your stamina, you won’t be able to do anything much.
While you create the character, you get several points to use on the stats; some of the stats are: (for beginners follow the distribution shared)
- Power- >5
- Health->8
- One-handed->3
- Polearms->2
- Stamina->8
- Agility->7
- Horse riding->3
- Bow->3
- Crossbow->4
- Throwing->4
- Shield Wielding->4
- Hunting/Fishing->5
- Intelligence->10
- Engineering->8
- Scouting->6
- Surgery->6
- Bandaging wounds->5
- Veterinary->3
Invest on stat points based on the type of character you want to build, like I want my character to be good at strategies and medicines, so I will invest more points on skills which help me reach my goals.

Tip #2 – Explore the Steel And Flesh 2 Game
After character customization is done, you will get spawned close to one of the capitals of your choice. See, the empire relations keep changing, and nothing is constant here; it doesn’t follow the path of history, so don’t get confused. You can tap anywhere on the map to make your character move to the place, and you can visit settlements or attack them.
The activities that you can perform in a settlement are:
- Visit the market
- Recruit soldiers
- Visit the tavern
- Fight in the Arena
- Visit the Port
You can also talk with moving armies; you can choose to either attack or swear allegiance to them. Orders include telling your men to get into the formation or sending troops to bring down enemy fortifications. If you successfully invade a village, it becomes yours to command, and you can opt to destroy it or develop it according to your wish.
General mapview buttons to access more information are:
- Map
- Squad:
- Set up camps most of the time to get food and rest.
Tip #3 – Don’t Get Overwhelmed.
New players get overwhelmed easily because there are so many things to do, and as they are not much familiar with the genre so it becomes a little difficult for them to survive or even enjoy the game; so some general tips that you can use in the game are:
- Do not be afraid to start at the lower difficulties.
- Archers with fishing rods (recommended to start as a hunter for this)
- Remember to keep your men’s spirits high

Steel and Flesh 2 is available on Google Play and App Store. From my experience, I think the game has so much potential, but due to the lack of proper tutorial guides and a support team, it cannot become the best game yet. At first, it was exciting, but later on, it kept getting more puzzling, so it would be a hard nut to crack for beginners. What do you think? Share your views through the comments section below.
