Rotaeno uses gyroscope or accelerometer on your phone, Similar to most rhythm games where notes fly down screen in lames a have to be hit a certain time, In Rotaeno notes fly from the center of the screen outward toward the judgment circle and the player has to rotate their screen to make notes fall in a certain area on the line to be considered a successful hit, some notes need to be tapped or held anywhere in judgement circle while some need to caught within specific baskets to be considered viable.
