Since the release of Rocket League on PC, the mobile gaming community has been asking for a mobile version of the game. And finally, the developers have decided to bring the Rocket League franchise on mobile, but it comes with a twist. Psyonix has just announced ‘Rocket League Sideswipe,’ which will release on mobile later this year.
What is Rocket League Sideswipe? How is it different from the original Rocket League?
Rocket League Sideswipe is an upcoming free-to-play mobile game. It is basically a mobile version of the original Rocket League but offers a different gameplay perspective and gameplay style. Though Rocket League Sideswipe’s core mechanism is the same as the parent game, it comes with a different camera angle. The game offers a side-scrolling view where the environment and cars look 3D, but the cars’ movements are restricted to two dimensions. This means you can drive the car right or left but can’t make it go back and forth.
The developers claim that the game has been built from scratch for the mobile platform. It is a multiplayer game where you can participate in 1v1 or 2v2 matches that lasts for 2 minutes. Lastly, the game claims to offer plenty of car customization options.
Rocket League Sideswipe is now available to download in few countries
Right after Rocket League Sideswipe was revealed, the developer has released a limited-time alpha test version of the game in Australia and New Zealand. So if you are from any of these two countries, then you are in luck, as you can simply download and enjoy the game via your local Google Play or Apple Appstore.

Rocket League Sideswipe global release date
Psyonix has announced that they aim to launch Rocket League Sideswipe worldwide on both Android and iOS platforms by the end of this year. It will be a free game with optional in-app purchases.
