What is PUBG Mobile 2?
In January 2020, Bloomberg reported that Krafton is working on a new PUBG Mobile 2 game. It will be a separate new game based on the PUBG IP.
Not much of the details have been revealed about the game yet, but what we could gather is that PUBG Mobile 2 will be a battle royale game just like PUBG Mobile. But it will have nothing to do with the previous edition; it will be a wholly new and separate game.
Unlike PUBG Mobile, which focuses on realistic gameplay, PUBG Mobile 2 will be set in 2051, focusing on sci-fi battle-style gameplay. It is assumed that krafton is developing such a game to counter the upcoming mobile shooter games like Apex Legends and Valorant Mobile.

In the news, you might hear that PUBG Mobile 2 might release as early as next week. This assumption is based on a single post that has been made on Weibo (which is basically Chinese Twitter). The post is also not by any official PUBG Mobile channel, instead by a community/fan page.
