Square Enix during their E3 event has opened pre-registrations worldwide for their mobile version of their NieR series, called NieR: Reincarnation. While E3 is mainly a showcase for only PC and console games, we have seen mobile games launch here as well. Square Enix, alongside its upcoming console games, has opened registrations for NieR mobile worldwide, which was initially available only in a few countries before.
Last year, Square Enix announced this game as a mobile-exclusive game, which is set to release later this year. A confirmed release date will be announced as time passes.
Pre-registration is now available for NieR Re[in]carnation, an action command-based RPG for mobile. Learn more here: https://t.co/QCrHj0KtJ4 pic.twitter.com/Xyc9LFO69W

NieR Reincarnation Story
NieR: Reincarnation will be free-to-play when it launches however it will feature microtransactions and loot boxes and perhaps ads as well. For those of you who have played the other NieR games, you will recognize the world as it takes place in the same world as NieR: Automata. Gameplay will be third-person with a top to down perspective which you can see in the video above. There will be on-screen buttons to interact with items and engage in combat.

Reincarnation’s story is touted to be “sad and beautiful”, which will make you play as the Child of Light who suffers from amnesia. She is guided in a world called The Cage by a mysterious apparition known as Mama. The game is going to be a true sequel NieR: Automata and Yoko Taro have confirmed that Reincarnation is highly connected to the previous titles. For all you NieR fans out there, there is no telling how this new game will pick up on the story and that could not sound more exciting. It is also said to have a definitive ending so no cliffhangers this time.
NieR Reincarnation Gameplay

Exploration in NieR: Reincarnation will be unique because it is based on exploring your characters memories, who Mama will try to bring back. You will meet other characters who will fight alongside you and you will be able to explore their memories as well, going deeper into the story.
The battle system for this game will be different from its predecessors as it will be turn-based. You will command your characters on what to do and the attacks will be performed automatically. If you’re not one for combat there will also be an auto mode for combat to make things easier for you. Besides combat, the side-stories will be based on a form of Japanese street theatre called Kamishibai, which uses sliding features. This is an extremely unique mechanic we have not seen before.

The Gacha System in NeiR Reincarnation
Reincarnation will also have a gacha system, which essentially the developer’s way to monetize a free game. We have seen it in a lot games like Genshin Impact. You spend in-game currency and get rewarded with a random items. We’re sure that the gacha system will be used to offer exclusive items as this is what’s commonly seen in a majority of gacha-based games.
This would pretty much wrap up everything we currently know about this game. Square Enix will surely drop more information as time passes. For now you can check out the opening movie video they released.
