Ocean – The place in your heart, is a beautiful and calming experience which sees the player making and upgrading coral and fish to make a relaxing underwater paradise. Here is everything you need to know to create efficiently, and some tips to consider during your playthrough.
Producing moonshards and hearts
Luna, the creator of this paradise, will be collecting moonshards, with the help of the coral, to make and upgrade the coral and fish. The fish will be, every now and then, producing hearts, which the player will have to collect whilst online, which are used to ‘research’ coral, in other words making more of them for your landscape which doubles their moonshard production.
Both your moonshards and hearts will be collected for up to two hours whilst you’re offline, so it is recommended to check back regularly, even just to collect your resources if you don’t have time to play.

Spend your moonshards and hearts wisely
When you are looking upon the gorgeous setting, a button on the bottom of the screen will prompt you with the next most recommended upgrade, and it is easy, useful, and usually advised to simply keep pressing that button to quickly upgrade and research your coral and Luna.
However, monshards can be spent to make new friends! Upon returning to your game from a break, don’t rush to spam the stream of upgrades, and instead check to see if you can create more inhabitants. Every fish created will significantly increase your moonshard and heart production, even if you put them into storage. So, every chance you get, make new friends to populate your little world, it’ll pay off!
Additionally, in making fish as often as you can, you may be surprised to meet the mystery conditions of other locked fish. So, if you want to unlock all the possible friends, then make fish as often as you can.
Hearts are best spent primarily on Luna to increase heart production. After which point, focus on researching the highest production coral and work your way down. Your pool will be covered in gorgeous coral before you know it!
Communicating with your fish
Communicating with your fish in Ocean, the place in your heart, is more of a relaxing function, to make you feel cozy and safe as Luna feeds or swims along your fishy friends. I would only advise doing this often as it makes for an easy achievement series. Also, it’s really cute. And the more communications you unlock, by levelling up Luna and completing the daily ‘special communication’ mission, the more completionist rewards you’ll unlock.
It pays to play with your fish!

The special fish
The special fish cannot be created through moonshards. You must spend shells and gems in the shop to purchase chests to unlock them. After receiving ten copies of each special fish, you will be able to create or level up that special fish. I would advise you spend your shells and gems on these chests instead of resource injections, as they’ll pay off much greater than quick cash.
Things to work towards
There a few things you can work towards, to get rewards.
- Achievements. You needn’t do anything too complicated, just play the game and you’ll be racking up gems and shell in no time.
- Daily log in. Make sure to log back in every day, preferably night to calm your mind, to collect free unique friends for your pool!
- Daily special communication mission. In creating and upgrading across the board, you will, eventually, complete the mission and unlock a special communication for one of your fish.
Follow these as guides, and you will find a more rewarding and enjoyable playthrough.
