After waiting for months, gamers around the world can now finally get their hands on the newest game in the NieR series, NieR Reincarnation!
NieR Reincarnation was first announced by Square Enix in March 2020 and today, after more than a year, it is finally being released. To attract players in the initial days and to celebrate the game’s launch, a crossover event with NieR Automata is taking place. The event will bring A2, 9S, and 2B to NieR Reincarnation as playable characters which you can summon in your team.
About NieR Reincarnation:
The player controls a character named, “The Girl of Light” in a mysterious place called, “The Cage”. A mysterious creature called “Mama” guides the player. With her help, the player is supposed to go up against a mute, half-insect half-knight creature who is called “The Dark Monster”. The purpose or objective of “The Dark Monster” has not been revealed and is something that the player will have to figure out.
Main characters in the game:
- The Girl of Light: A girl who awakens on the cold stone floor of The Cage. Though she is kind and has a bright personality, she wears a collar and bandages for reasons unknown and is plagued each night by horrible dreams.
- Mama: A mysterious creature who calls herself Mama. She seems to know something about the cage, and acts as a guide for the girl. There is a side of her that simply likes to do as she pleases. So you’ll sometimes find her just enjoying the scenery or poking around.
- The Dark Monster: A strange being that wanders the Cage. It resembles a knight in armor, but also a speechless insect. Regardless, it seems to have some kind of objective.
These are the three main characters in the game. There are some other characters such as:
- The Wanderer
- The Prosthetic Hunter
- The Clockwork Soldier
- The Assassin

Conclusion:
The NieR series is well-loved in Japan and after looking at the masterfully crafted visuals from the in-game footage one can understand why that is the case. The graphics, as beautiful as they are, are not the only good thing about the game. NieR games are known for their highly impressive storylines and brilliant music, and NieR Reincarnation should be no different.
