The world’s most popular streaming platform had sent shockwaves across the gaming world when it announced its plans to enter the mobile gaming industry by releasing a game based on Stranger Things, which was being beta tested only in Poland this August. Now, it has expanded this test to two more countries namely Spain and Italy along with the addition of three more new games such as Shooting Hoops, Card Blast and Teeter Up.
Interestingly, the company has not developed any of the above-mentioned games and has instead opted for officially licensing them from their respective developers: Card Blast by Rogue Games, and Shooting Hoops as well as Teeter Up both developed by Frosty Pop.

Netflix slowly enters the world of mobile gaming
So far, this test has been going on for Android devices only, with no reports for the iOS platform yet. If users happen to live in the testing region, they can head over to the Netflix app, where all these new gaming titles will show up under the “Games” tab. It will redirect to the Play Store for download, listed under Netflix’s developer account, and before starting to play, you need to enter your Netflix account credentials.
Another thing to note is that all of these games are free to play to those who have a Netflix account and live in the tested areas. Moreover, you can play them without watching any ads or paying for additional subscriptions or in-game purchases.
Netflix is surely planning for launching its gaming platform in the US and other places, but there’s no official word from the company yet. It does seem that the company is serious about entering the market when it announced it recently acquired its first-ever game development company Night School Studio- the developers behind Oxenfree and Oxenfree II, for instance.
There is a reason the company targeted these two countries and the reason being; they have a very active population for mobile gaming and for now, Netflix doesn’t seem to have plans to target the hardcore games, as of now, but rather causal players who take a deep interest in Stranger Things, for example.
