Jetpack Joyride 2: Bullet Rush is a sequel to Halfbrick’s much-loved side-scrolling endless runner game Jetpack Joyride that was released almost ten years ago. Now that Jetpack Joyride 2 is available in selected countries, we have been playing it for a few days – It’s time for Jetpack Joyride 2 Game Review.
Gameplay
The core mechanism of the game remains the same. In the sequel, you get to play as ‘Barry’ whose objective is to stop a scientist and his evil experiments. On the way, you dodge obstacles, shoot down enemies, collect coins, and whatnot.
However, the gameplay has been enhanced quite a bit. It is no more the old game where you just reply on your powerful jetpack, though it is still an important part, but now there are weapons such as laser beam, flamethrower that will aid you too. There are even robotic suits that you can collect and use in your journey.

The new game has shifted towards an upgradable format, where you collect coins on your run and then come back to the lobby to use these coins to upgrade your jetpack, guns, and other stuff.
Graphics
The developers have tried to keep the original game’s touch; therefore, the sequel will feel just like the old game. However, it’s obvious that it’s a brand new game developed after almost ten years, and the technology has advanced so much. Therefore, the graphics, even though related to the old game, looks very neat and clean and just feels soft and perfect.

Controls
The controls are exactly the same as in the previous game. Running is automatic; the shooting part is also automated. All you have to do is control the up and down movements, which you can do by merely tapping on the screen.
What’s Negative?
Jetpack Joyride 2: Bullet Rush now follows a consumable energy system. Every time you do a run in the game, it will consume energy. Thus, if you run out of energy, you must either wait or pay real money to get it back.

Verdict
Just like the original game, it is no doubt that Jetpack Joyride 2: Bullet Rush is fun to play. It’s simple, easy to play, and understand. It’s going to be popular amongst casual gamers. If you are waiting for someone or just bored, you can simply open this game and kill your time.
However, the only negative side which we feel is the way that the game has been monetized. It kind of feels that the game sometimes forces you to spend real cash.
