Following countless leaks and immeasurable speculation from the gaming community, developer miHoYo has announced Honkai Star Rail. The game was leaked and was all over the news just about 2 weeks ago, so here is what you need to know about the announcement.
Today as miHoYo was celebrating Honkai Impact 3rd’s anniversary it took the opportunity and right at the end announced Honkai Star Rail along with a teaser. This came as a pleasant surprise to the community, as although the game’s presence and development behind the scenes were being speculated, not many expected miHoYo to announce the game at this event. Along with this, miHoYo also announced that they will start accepting beta applicants from the game from the 8th of October.
Not a lot is known about the game yet, and the teaser didn’t reveal any special details as well. It showed a few characters, about whom nothing is known. Therefore, although the game has been announced, nothing really has been revealed yet.
What we know about Honkai Star Rail from the leaks:
As soon as the game was accidentally put up on the App Store, the ever-so-vigilant members of the gaming community pounced upon it. These people were therefore able to get their hands on the game’s footage. Some even datamined story-related text, gameplay, artwork, and characters before the Honkai Star Rail client was taken down.
Looking at these leaks, it looks like the game will bring to the players an open-world experience. Unlike other Honkai games, this one also seems to be a turn-based RPG. Honkai Star Rail also follows miHoYo’s habit of reusing their previous characters, as faces from previous games appear here as well!
In Star Rail the player will be forming teams of 3 just like Honkai Impact. In the leaked footage, enemies were seen with element symbols over their heads, which means that countering types will be one of the game’s main features. The game will also feature a gacha system like all miHoYo games.
Conclusion:
To conclude, although this might help bring down the speculations about the game’s existence, now starts a new phase. Rumors about what the game comes with! And that just means that the ball is still in miHoYo’s court. Since the beta applications start soon, one can expect that the game should be ready for release soon as well.
