Due to unforeseen circumstances, Genshin Impact had to have their delay their new update version 2.7. There had been a lot of speculation about it for the past few weeks in the Genshin Community. Finally, on April 29, we got a confirmation from Hoyoverse through the Genshin Impact Twitter account that the update is delayed and should stay tuned for more information. The tweet goes as follows:
Genshin Impact 2.6 Phase 3 announcement:
But the delay means the extension of the current 2.6 Version. For the first time since the release, Genshin Impact has had to add Phase 3 in their monthly updates. The last event of phase 2 is now the Marvelous Merchandise event, one of the more popular events in the game. Players love the event since you need to just exchange every material for Primogems and a lot of other rewards. Today, they announced an extended phase to the current update to keep the players entertained. Marvelous Merchandise starts from 6th May and ends on 13th May, so don’t miss out on it. Let’s look into what players can look forward to!
Extended Ayaka and Weapon Banner:

For people who have been wanting Ayaka but couldn’t save for her or lost pity on her banner: Great News! Her banner has been extended till Version 2.6 ends, as you will notice on the bottom left corner of the screen. She has to be one of the longest-running banners since Genshin Impact’s release. If you are confused about what weapon or artifacts to use on her, you can refer to our Ayaka Build Guide to learn more.
Along with the Character banner, the weapon banner carrying the Mistsplitter and the Unforged is also extended. Travelers have now a lot of time to save and summon for their favorite character or weapon. Let’s hope that Ayaka wanters will finally be Ayaka havers!
Genshin Impact 2.6 Extended Events:
Alongside Marvelous Merchandise, we have two new events added to the extension. They are as follows:
Spices from the West:

This event was initially canceled and set to appear in Version 2.7 due to the Serenitea Pot being under maintenance. But seems like the maintenance is about to be over as Hoyoverse is bringing the Spices of the West event back! Also, Serenitea Pot being back means you can finally place other characters and farm companion exp for them.
During this event, you need to help Nazafarin to create different kinds of spices and seasonings according to the recipes provided. You can also make special dishes by adding the created spices and feeding them to the character in your Serenitea Pot to gain additional Companion exp points. The event will run from 14th May to 7th June. You need to be Adventure Rank 20 to create the spices and Adventure Rank 28 to feed the dishes to the characters. Primogems, Hero’s Wits, Weapon Ascension Materials, and other items will be obtained.
Overflowing Mastery:

This event has been a reoccurring one in Genshin Impact. Players can gain double the amount of Talent books from the Forsaken Rift, Taishan Mansion, and Violet Court. You have to keep in mind that you will only gain 2x reward by spending 20 resins, it does not work with Condensed Resin. The event will start on 22nd May and end on 29th May.
Compensation Rewards:
For the delay with the release, Hoyoverse is offering a lot of compensation rewards. They are as follows:
