We have fantastic news for all the gamers out there, especially for the Esports players. In a meeting this week, the Olympic Council of Asia’s general assembly has announced that Esports will be featured as a Medal Event in the Asian Games 2022, which is going to be held in Hangzhou, China.

Esports to be a Medal Event At Asian Games 2022
In the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Esports was featured as a demonstration sport. It means basically the event was conducted merely to promote it, and the medals in that particular event were not counted towards the final tally of the country.

But for the Asian Games 2022, the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia) has announced that Esports will be featured as a full Medal Event.
Though Esports’ chances of being added to the upcoming Asian Games and Olympics as a medal event became quite real after its successful demonstration at the Asian Games 2018. But it is also believed that the pandemic has played a vital role as it triggered a shift to explore new ideas.
Which Games will be a part of the Asian Games 2022?
In the 2018 Asian Games, a total of Six video games were featured. They were: Arena of Valor, Clash Royale, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Pro Evolution Soccer, and StarCraft II.

However, for the 2022 Asian Games, the organizers have not yet officially confirmed which all video games will be part of the event.
But thanks to some internal news and rumors, it is speculated that games like League of Legends, Arena of Valor, Hearthstone, Clash Royale will be a part of Asian Games 2022. Furthermore, FIFA and a couple of Motorsport Racing Games like F1 2020 also have a good chance of being featured at the event.
