Free Fire is a popular mobile battle royale game from Garena. It was the highest-earning mobile shooter in the USA, with 68 Million dollars in just the Q1 of 2021 – 6 million dollars more than what PUBG Mobile could make in the country in the same time frame. Earlier this year, Garena introduced an International Tournament for Free Fire players around the world. It has released a trailer full of excitement, revealing the dates and location for the tournament.
Singapore is hosting the offline event with the play-ins on May 22, and the final played on May 29. The 41 seconds animated trailer that has hyped up millions of fans around the globe just asks one question, “Are You Committed?”. This short trailer tells us a lot, to stay true and committed to our dreams to make them a reality one day.
Few teams to miss the tournament due to travel restrictions
18 teams from 13 regions are all set to play this international event. This doesn’t include India, though. Two professional teams from India, Galaxy Racer Esports and Team Elite, were ready to play this tournament after clear domination from Indian teams in different events, including the Tri-Series between India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Singapore’s government has imposed travel restrictions due to which the two teams can’t participate in the event. But since they have qualified for the tournament, the organizers will award them a share of the Prize Pool. Though they are awarded, this will surely impact their morale and dedication. Qualified teams from Pakistan and Bangladesh won’t participate either because of the restrictions.

Massive Prize Pool on Stake
The world will watch these 18 teams compete against each other for a prize pool of $2 million. The winners are taking $500 thousand with them. The runner-up will get $250 thousand. The 3rd and 4th teams will get $100 thousand each. And the rest of the team will receive their awards based on their ranking. Although 9 teams from different regions will play against each other in the play-ins, only 3 of them will qualify for the finals. These 3 teams will play with the 9 directly invited teams for the cup and the Prize for 1st position. One thing that can’t be forgotten is that the tournament MVP takes $50 thousand alone. So not only will the players play as a team to win but also give their best as individuals for that MVP prize.
