Shengqu Games teamed with Klei Entertainment and the developers of the popular franchise, Don’t Starve series, with its open-world rogue-like survival game, on the newest addition Don’t Starve: Newhome, which is now up for pre-registration. Klei Entertainment has for long been the sole developer of the Don’t Starve series however Newhome is being developed Shengqu Games and not by Klei Entertainment directly.
Don’t Starve: Newhome will retain the favoured aspects of the series with its distinct animation, the challenging day-counting gameplay and unique crafting mechanics. However, unlike the previous Don’t Starve games, in Don’t Starve: Newhome the emphasis is on co-survival with the ability to build a house and solve puzzles along with survival, exploration, and crafting aspects that have made the series so widely loved.
Don’t Starve: Newhome introduces a completely new story, an alternate reality completely separate from the main Don’t Starve Canon. In Newhome, players can customize their character’s appearance to fit their aesthetic. In Don’t Starve: Newhome, To survive the night, players need to learn the basics: collect stones, berries, cut down trees and so on. Gradually, they will be able to create a shared refuge with friends, but for fans of Don’t Starve this is no secret.
Newhome diverges from the others in the series in a way where a house will become the player’s permanent safe place, unlike the other parts of this franchise, where the player has to move from one location to another, to survive.
This game will also come with photo mode, so friends can save and share moments as they play. Shengqu Games all promised faster play sessions for mobile game players.
Don’t Starve: Newhome trailer neatly sets up the different twists on the previous games in the Don’t Starve series. The major difference is that previously players were adventuring either alone or with one other player, in this game, there are up to four players that can team up to survive together in Don’t Starve: Newhome, and they’ll be playing each of the characters that were seen transported into the constant through the gramophone in the trailer.
