Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas is a huge fantasy title that sees the player raising an army of champions, rebuilding economies, weaving intricate bloodlines, and so much more. The campaign, and upgrading your champions, are the central aspect of the game, as progressing through the campaign unlocks more and more features. Acquiring champions
A strong team needs champions, and you would be better off with lots of them! Aside from buying the with real money, you can get hold of strong champions in a number of ways, so make sure to keep these in mind.
- Advancing the campaign is one way to be rewarded with heroes.
- Going on expeditions can allow you to find and take on powerful heroes from all across the land.
- Prisoners that are taken can be rehabilitated to join your cause.
- Completing events and limited challenges may have a champion as the reward.
- If ever you are in need of a champion, look no further than those four caveats as your primary means of champion sourcing.
Strengthening your champions
There are a few ways to upgrade your champions and make them stronger.
Using gold, you can level them up, increasing their attributes. Upgrading can be expensive! So choose around five to eight strong champions that you want to focus on upgrading, so you don’t waste your gold on the weaker champions you’ll never put out on the field of battle. Upgrade evenly between your chosen, you will need a balanced and reliable team to beat the enemy.
You may find gear as you play the game through rewards or your own purchases. To make life easier, Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas has a ‘quick equip’ button that allows all appropriate gear to be allocated to that hero. It would be worth checking to see if your chosen heroes have any gear they can equip, which would make them so much stronger in battle. Also, don’t forget to take the gear off weaker heroes who aren’t using them anymore to give to your champions. There are more advanced ways of enhancing your heroes, but they are late games and will not concern you as you begin your journey.
Fighting with your champions
Finally, combat! Here, you will choose five of your champions to go toe-to-toe with the enemy. You will preferably want your strongest heroes, but don’t worry if your power is less than the enemies! Even if they are over two-thousand power stronger than you, you can still beat them through your use of abilities. Challenge accepted!
Additionally, when assigning your heroes, make sure to pay attention to where you put them! Your formation could make or break the battle, so put your ranged or fragile heroes to the back, and let the stronger ones rush head-first into the action.
You don’t claim autonomy over your heroes, instead, they will fight on their own. What you can do, however, is choose when each hero uses their ability, which will charge through them scoring hits on an opponent. Try not to save these abilities, unless the heroes are not in a good position to utilize their ability to the fullest, or it is a buff ability and it would be wasted on heroes who don’t need the bonus.
Due to your heroes fighting by themselves, it is important to strengthen them! A strong team will hardly have any weaknesses for the enemy to exploit. It is important, when making your roster for that battle, to also consider the abilities. Try to have at least one healing hero, especially if the enemy’s power is superior to yours!
