Soulcalibur 6 is a fighting game developed by Bandai Namco. It is the seventh edition of the Soulcalibur series. Soulcalibur 6 or SoulCalibur VI is playable on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Microsoft windows. The gameplay of Soulcalibur 6 is the same as the previous editions of the Soulcalibur series. However, there is a slight addition in Soulcalibur 6 gameplay with the addition of new mechanics like Reversal Edge and new revamped soul charge helps the characters in their defences. If we look into rosters, there are 21 fighting characters. Just like the previous edition, nobody knew or could understand the tier list. Understandingly, competitive players were also unsure about the tier list and used to choose characters they liked to play. Subsequently, average players follow pro players’ tactics and, similarly, their characters. Today we will talk about the best characters in Soulcalibur 6 that you want to play but not against them.
1 2B
2B is the main character of square enix’s. She is the type of character that users feel at ease while playing her. Due to her excellent short and long-range, it is pretty easy to have on your side. She can be useful against zoning characters because of her long-range moves. 2B has an intense rush down and lengthy strings. Moreover, she is very fast against projectiles and against characters that have long-range. Furthermore, she has an excellent 3B while being a standard and intermediate character.
2 Amy Sorel
Amy Sorel is another female character, but unlike 2B, she is only lethal in short range. Due to her fast moves, she can hit the enemy in seconds. In context, Amy Sorel is the adopted daughter of Raphael, due to which Amy has adopted Raphael fencing style, resulting in good mixups combos. Moreover, she has 3-meter bars, Red Rose and White Rose. These special meters are also called the Rose perception meter. You can charge the meter up by hitting combos. Once Rose perception meters are charged up, they can result in lethal Amy Sorel. The Red rose perception helps you in the offence, while the White Rose can help you in Defence. To conclude, if you are more prone to short-range combat Amy Sorel is the go-to character.
3 Astaroth
Astaroth is one of the most lethal characters in Soulcalibur 6, with good high damage output, strong ringouts and power. While few characters can grapple, Astaroth, unlike others Astaroth can grapple with his giant Axe, has an excellent range. Subsequently, with the help of his throws, one can easily engage in combos, causing more severe damage. Moreover, if you are not prone to long-range fights, Astaroth will not be a good option, but you can rely on Astaroth if you want to play safe.
4 Azwel
While being a good character, Azwel did not gain much popularity among the community members of Soulcalibur 6. He is a unique character due to his special powers, such as various modes, including Sword mode, Spear mode, and Axe mode. He is equipped with all three modes, which helps in fighting in short, mid and long ranges. Likewise, all these modes have different moves that make him capable of fighting in any range. Azwel has good damage output with low Axe, also called Hellsweep. Moreover, he has excellent soul charge and different techniques, making him one of the best characters in Soulcalibur 6.
5 Geralt Of Rivia
Geralt of Rivia requires no introduction as many players choose Geralt just because of their personal preference. Subsequently, like in the witch series, he is not as lethal a character as one would have expected, but Geralt is suitable for beginner players. Geralt of Rivia, the mighty witcher, is a straightforward character with good damage output. He is lethal in short and mid-range. Moreover, he is easy to play due to his straightforward moves. Geralt’s unique skill is that he can punish soul charged players with his sword. Furthermore, he has some magic powers from the witcher series, also known as the stop sign. To conclude, Geralt of Rivia is a good choice for players who want to learn the character’s moves quickly.
6 Raphael Sorel
Raphael is the most likeable character in Soulcalibur 6. He is a type of character with a balanced blend of speed and range. Raphael Sorel has excellent whiff punishment ability with good poking and mixups. He is lethal when it comes to players with a long-range due to his fast speed and good range. Raphael can be referred to as the all-rounder due to his excellent offence and defence. Subsequently, he struggles with players who sidestep due to his linear attack moves. To conclude, Raphael Sorel is one of the best characters you can play in Soulcalibur 6, but you need to learn his moves.
7 Nightmare
Nightmare is another character from Soulcalibur 6. Nightmare is recommended character for those players who love destruction and good damage output. With good and fast movement, Nightmare is lethal. Moreover, nightmare terror charges can terrify an opponent’s offences. Furthermore, Nightmare is capable of strong whiff punishments, and to his defence, he has a strong soul wave to release the pressure. Subsequently, his skill set includes strong guard stamina, strong ringouts and strong revenge attacks. Consequently, the overall Nightmare range is not impressive, but his throw range is pretty remarkable. Most Soul Calibur Tier List have also ranked Nightmare at S Tier (top one).
8 Seong Mi-Na
Seong Mi-Na is another female character in Soulcalibur 6. She is one of the best characters, and the majority of players play her due to her extraordinary range. Subsequently, she is lethal in a close range too. Her good guard gauge damage can kill the enemy when you go on the offensive in close range. Moreover, Seong has an excellent keep out with impressive mixup combos. To conclude, Seong Mi-Na is one of the best characters, but you need to learn her moves to play effectively.
9 Setsuka
Setsuka is among other female characters of the game. In her case, she is very lethal when it comes to combat. She can drop opponents very quickly and has normal range. Subsequently, Setsuka has excellent whiff damage and intense punishment. Moreover, she can poke opponents from mid-range, and her pokes are impressive too.
Furthermore, her damage output is also excellent. With that said, Setsuka is a brilliant character, but unfortunately, players do not like playing her. To conclude, in my opinion, Setsuka is a great character but far too advanced for beginners.
10 Sophita Alexandra
Sophita Alexandra is one of those characters who are balanced in terms of offence and defence. Sophita, compared to Setsuka, is very popular in the community. Due to her excellent range and skill, players often play Sophita. She has an outstanding offence mixup, and to balance that, she has excellent defence punishment, making Sophita a lethal character. Moreover, Sophita is good at poking with different moves and good safety. Sophita moves are fast and hard to dodge with that her mobility is pretty impressive too. To conclude, if you want to play in a mid-range fight and be safe at the same time, I will recommend Sophita Alexandra.
11 Zasalamel
Zasalamel is the kind of player that everybody wishes to get hands-on because of his great damage output with long-range. Thanks to his giant weapon Zasalamel has the best range in the game. He has a few special tricks where he can break the opponent’s guard and sometimes cause damage. Moreover, Zasalamel is very strong in mid-range combat. Subsequently, Zasalamel is very quick in close range, and he normally curses and does magic offences. To conclude, Zasalamel is a very impressive character, but unfortunately, he did not gain any fame. You can play Zasalamel if you want good mid-range combat and a character with good damage out and good range too.
To conclude this list during my gameplay, I came to know Soulcalibur is a very balanced game in terms of characters. It totally depends on the player game mindset and the type of character the user chooses. Every character has its pros and cons. It depends on the user how he plays the character.
