Today, in this article, we shall be talking about the aspects of introducing ‘Akimbo’ weapons in Free Fire. Free Fire is a survival Battle Royale mobile game that’s quite popular in several regions of the world, including Brazil, Southern Asia, Europe, etc. The game developers have always tried to constantly change the game to keep the player base engaged with new content and features. One such new feature is the concept of ‘Akimbo Weapons.’
Akimbo Wield
Akimbo, in this content, refers to dual wield, the technique of using two weapons, one in each hand, during combat. Many games have had this feature for so long, Free Fire recently followed in the footsteps and decided to inculcate the prospects of new scenarios popping up due to its introduction. Well, it’s about time we get to discuss the Akimbo weapons in Free Fire, so far:
1 Vector

This is an SMG close-range weapon with a high fire rate and movement speed when carrying it. Though its firepower and armor-piercing isn’t all that great, but when used in the Akimbo mode, the gun can prove to be way more lethal than any of the other close-range weapons. Taking enemies down within a split second if hunted at point-blank range.
Considering the Akimbo buff, the gun was optimized in future updates to make it more balanced. As such, currently, the gun still remains the number one choice in close range when using in Akimbo around the last circles in a match. Though, another point to note here is that, a single vector has a slightly better range than the Akimbo vectors.
2 M1917
M1917 is a weapon introduced in the latest update to add more variety in the pistol category of the game. The weapon is only available in CS mode matches for the time being. The pistols offer high damage, good movement speed, and have a decent enough range. Though, with zero armor piercing, the gun doesn’t prove to that effective against vests. Reload time is also something that can put the player in a pinch. Overall, a very reliable secondary gun, second only to the mighty Desert Eagle, that too in long-range. In short-range, this Akimbo weapon has almost nil competition from the other secondary weapons.
3 USP-2

Same old weapon, revamped with the Akimbo mode, available in BR as well as CS mode matches. The gun has the goodness and agility of the single USP, but Akimbo means twice the damage. The gun may not seem that powerful, but against the M500, it can still prove to a tough competitor in mid-short range battles. A quick reload coupled with a high fire rate makes the pistol a subtle fatality. To keep it balanced, the range of the USP-2 is a bit lower than the single-wield USP. If you prefer short-range pistol battles, this is the gun to go for in the first round of CS games. Just be careful of the enemies closing in to knock down with the fist!
