Square Enix has brought Actraiser Renaissance, a remastered version of the popular SNES title Actraiser to mobile! Read ahead to know all about the recent release!
Actraiser first came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System(SNES) in 1990. The game was very well received as it was one of the first games which featured a cross-genre style. Essentially, Actraiser is a side-scrolling action platformer, but that is not all! The game also combines city-building and not just as a minor part, but as something which as important as the aforementioned genre!
This was quite a big deal back in the day, and therefore the game developed a massive fan following. Today, the game almost has a miniature cult status. The fans had been asking for a remake for quite some time and much to their surprise they have been heard! Square Enix in the September, Nintendo Direct announced the launch of Actraiser Renaissance! A remastered version of Actraiser. Along with the remaster they also announced some new features that the redeveloped version will feature!
About Actraiser Renaissance and its New Features:
Actraiser Renaissance will feature the same basic plot as Actraiser. The player plays 2 characters in the game, The Lord of Light and their loyal angel who are supposed to be the saviors against Tanzra, The Lord of Dark, and his forces before they destroy civilization. The player plays in 2 ways, while playing as the lord of light, the player is faced with a side-scrolling action platformer where he is to fight against opponents. The second part is when the player plays as the angel, here the player is faced with a top-down strategic view from where he/she has to help with rebuilding the city.
Moving on, the remaster brings new levels, stories, realm management gameplay, and powerful bosses. Furthermore, it also brings a new strategy battle feature called Settlement Siege. This time, the game also features auto-save and the ability to dodge. Square Enix also hasn’t forgotten the veteran fans of the game, as it features the original soundtrack as well. Added to this, the game also features 15 new songs written and composed by Yuzo Koshiro! The user can toggle between the original and new songs.
How to download:
The game is available on both, Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store! It comes with a price tag of $19.99, and you can download it from here for your Android device and from here for your iOS device!
The game is also available for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, but features a price tag of $29.99 on them.
Conclusion:
To conclude, this release is something for which the fans have been asking for a long time now, but the fact that it comes with a pretty steep price tag of $19.99 surely dampens the excitement a bit. Maybe the avid fans would still get their hands on this beloved piece of nostalgia and with the updated visuals, added stories, revamped music they surely would be in for an exciting experience, but will it be able to justify the $19.99 price tag? That is something we aren’t sure about. Nonetheless, do let us know what you think about the game by writing your thoughts down in the comments section!
