The main goal of the game OGame is expansion into the Universe.
At the beginning click on a Universe to begin gameplay. Atlas might be the default Universe for most players. However, you can select from a variety of universes by simply clicking on the Select a Universe option, then clicking on the “+” beside My Accounts Page, then clicking on any other Universe such as Zenith, Tucana, Umbra, etc to start your game in a new universe. Different Universes have different characteristics like aggressive, economic, and balanced.
Then the Overview page will appear, which provides you with a quick insight into the Universe. It also shows the amount of Metal, Crystal, Deuterium, Energy, Food, Population, and Dark Matter present in the Universe. The menu allows you to supervise and govern the galactic empire. It also shows the progress of the upgradation of resources and facilities at once.
Tip #1- Resources
The Resources section contains main resource-generating economic units like Metal Mine, Crystal Mine, Deuterium Synthesizer, Solar Planet Fusion Reactor, and others. The main unit is the Solar Plant. It absorbs energy from solar radiation and provides power for the mines and the Deuterium Synthesizer to run at full capacity. So, I advise you to start upgrading the Solar Plant first with the given Metals and Crystals. Then slowly expand the Metal Mine and Crystal Mine to produce vital resources for building the other vital units. Keep an eye on the amount of the combination of Metals, Crystals, and Deuterium, and try to replenish them by upgrading their respective units whenever you can.
Tip #2- Facilities
The Facilities section contains manufacturing units like Robotics Factory, Nanite Factory, Shipyard, Space Dock, and others. I recommend you start building the Research Lab first.
Tip #3- Research
The Research section deals with new technologies such as Energy, Laser, Plasma, computers, Astrophysics, and many more. I recommend you start with Energy Technology as it unlocks the development of more sophisticated ships and defenses, the most important being the Research Lab from the Facilities Section.
These three are the most important parts of the game. Whenever you require more resources, you can purchase them using Dark Matter. Also, hire Commanders using Dark Matter to speed up the upgrading processes. Other tips for the game are as below.
- The Lifeforms section deals with buildings for habitation such as Residential Sector, Biosphere Farm, Food Silos, and many more. Each level upgrade increases the living space, growth rate, storage capacity, rate of food produced, etc for the planet.
- To begin Lifeform Research. first, build the Research Center to get access to Techtree, which shows research upgrade levels and upgrading technologies.
- Dark Matter is quite expensive and rare in nature. There is no particular production unit for this resource. However, one can purchase Dark Matter using money via Google Play and App Store purchases, otherwise one can buy this resource from the Auction Market. Click on the Trader icon and then Resource Market to buy Dark Matter in exchange for Metal, Crystal, and Deuterium.
