PUBG Studios and KRAFTON Inc. have just announced their upcoming brand new battle royale titled ‘PUBG: New State.’ It is a mobile game that will release on Android and iOS later this year.
Not many details have been revealed about PUBG: New State, the developers have just released the Pre-Order trailer and announced that the game would launch in 2021. However, We have gathered whatever we could and compiled it in this post. So here are 10 things you should know about PUBG: New State.
1. The game is set in the year 2051
As you must have already heard, PUBG: New State is a futuristic mobile battle royale game. KRAFTON is developing it to compete against upcoming AAA shooter games like Apex Legends and Valorant Mobile.
PUBG: New State features futuristic theme-based combat gameplay. As per the official details, the game is set in the year 2051, where the world is in a state of anarchy – where there are no authority or governing bodies, and various squads fight against each other to be the last one standing.
2. New map
PUBG: New State will feature a brand new map called ‘TROI.’ It will be an 8×8 km map just like Erangle in PUBG Mobile. This new map will feature elements such as drones, combat rolls, etc. Unlike PUBG Mobile, the map will have some stationary weapons, which the players can use to change the course of the battle.
3. PUBG: New State is not a replacement of PUBG Mobile
PUBG: New State is a brand new game; it is not a replacement of PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile will continue to co-exist with PUBG: New State. Furthermore, PUBG: New State demands more hardware requirements, and it will only run smoothly on high-end mobile devices.
4. The core mechanics remains the same
PUBG: New State is basically a sequel to PUBG Mobile; this is why in this brand new mobile battle royale game, the core mechanics remains the same. Players will still drop down from an airplane, loot items on landing, and fight against other enemies to be the last man standing. Other than the core mechanics, other elements such as gun mechanics and movements mechanics will also remain very similar to PUBG Mobile.
5. Minimum device requirements
The minimum device requirements to play PUBG: New State are:
- On Android: Android 6.0 or higher, 2.5GB RAM
- On iOS: Any device with iOS 10 or higher.
6. Red Zones to be replaced by missiles
In PUBG: New State red zone has been replaced by bombing missiles. In PUBG Mobile, a red zone could be formed anywhere, and bombing would start out of nowhere. However, in PUBG: New State, a plane will fly over the map, dropping missiles, creating a red zone.
7. Release date
KRAFTON and PUBG Studios both have officially confirmed that PUBG: New State will be released worldwide in 2021 itself. The game, however, won’t release in Vietnam, China, and India due to regulatory issues.
The developers have not yet announced an exact date of launch for the game. For now, they have just said that it will release this year. However, if we go by the rumors, the game will launch somewhere in Mid 2021.
8. The game will use Global Illumination technology
The developers have officially confirmed that PUBG: New State will use Global Illumination technology. The same technology was recently implemented in PUBG Mobile, making the objects look more realistic by determining the angle of light falling on a surface.
9. Console level graphics quality
KRAFTON has promised that PUBG: New State will feature consoles like graphics and take mobile gaming a step ahead in the future. As seen in the teaser of the game, the graphics look fantastic. Players will now be able to interact with the surrounding. For Example: Shooting on the car’s door will now break it, and it will detach and drop on the floor.
Another example is that windows of buildings in PUBG: New State will have a glass just like in the PC version of PUBG Mobile, and when shooting, it will break the glass first.
10. PUBG New State is basically PUBG Mobile with gadgets and better graphics
KRAFTON and PUBG Studios are trying to fool most of the world by saying that PUBG: New State is a brand new game built from scratch. But the harsh truth is that it is a polished version of Timi Studios PUBG Mobile Version. Timi Studios already developed everything way back in the year 2018, be it drones, holograms, deployable shields, etc., which is being promised for this upcoming PUBG: New State game. (that is a different thing that such features were never release in the global version)
According to us, KRAFTON and PUBG Studios are just rereleasing PUBG Mobile again with some cosmetic and graphics changes under the title of a new game, ‘PUBG: New State.’ But why? We don’t know for sure, but it could be because of its partnership with Tencent Games (a Chinese game studio), because of which the game has been facing a lot of problems in many countries recently. For example, PUBG Mobile was banned in INDIA for the sole reason that Tencent Games published it.
It looks more like that with the help of PUBG: New State, KRAFTON, and PUBG Studios are basically trying to remove the name of Tencent Games from PUBG Mobile. That’s all.
So that concludes our list of top 10 things you should know about PUBG: New State. If you got something more, then make sure to share it with the world in the comments below.
