Krafton- the developing company behind the game BGMI, in a recent post has revealed about the permanent banning of over 3 Lakh BGMI accounts. Ever Since the ban of PUBG Mobile, players had been waiting in anticipation for the game to re-enter the Indian gaming market. The game was rebranded as BGMI officially released on July 2 this year and is running smoothly till date with over 48 million Play Store downloads.
However, the most persistent trouble for the developers has been the surge in cheaters in-game. There were enormous complaints made by the players flooding all over the game’s social media channels regarding the increase in cheaters and how it affected their game experience.
Official Ban Announcement
Krafton had been extensively working on the issue and on 9th August, the developers put out an official announcement on their official website mentioning about the permanent ban of 336,736 accounts spanning over 7 days (from 30th July to 5th August).
The developers have also clarified that they had been collecting and investigating cases through their security system and community monitoring, after which they could conclude and strictly impose a permanent ban on those accounts. Furthermore, they also assure their player base that BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA will strive to implement strong sanctions with the ultimate goal of eradicating the use of illegal programs in order to provide the players a pleasant gaming environment.
The accounts that have been banned were notably found using external illegal software to play via unfair means, spot enemy players, using aimbots, and track where the loot is, according to Krafton. The rise in the number of cheaters in-game not only violate rules of fair play gaming but also created a displeasing gaming atmosphere for players who intend to play and enjoy the game fairly.
With this Krafton has taken over the issue promptly after the game’s launch, which will further warn potential hackers to discontinue their cheating tactics in order to continue playing the game. Krafton also assures its player base to make necessary changes and adopt stern action in the prevention of the game’s fair play.
During the same time span, the developers have also eradicated a total of 1,080,773 accounts in PUBG Mobile as part of the ‘Ban Pan project’, revealed from an official tweet.
