COD Mobile was released way back in October 2019, and since then, it has been downloaded over 500 Million times. Believe it or not, it is a massive achievement for Activision. There are hardly any mobile games in the market that can achieve such numbers. In addition to the download figure, the game has generated over $1 Billion in revenue by selling in-game items.
COD Mobile crosses 500 Million total downloads
Today, Activision, in its earnings call meeting, shared this milestone with the investors. The company stated that since the launch of COD Mobile in October 2019, it has now been downloaded over 500 Million times on Android and iOS devices. Even after almost two years of its release, the game still manages to get millions of daily active players, and the number is increasing every month.
Many new players are joining the COD Mobile universe thanks to the massive advertisement campaigns that Activiosn has been running. The credits of massive growth can also be given to the pandemic that has helped the gaming industry as a whole and also the banning of similar games like PUBG Mobile in certain countries.
Lastly, COD Mobile is no doubt a fantastic mobile shooter game. It’s is free-to-play and offers a perfect mobile gaming experience. If a player is looking for a good mobile shooting game or battle royale game, it is one of the top 3 options available in the market alongside Free Fire and PUBG Mobile.
COD Mobile generated over $1 Billion
Again a huge milestone has been achieved by COD Mobile. Activision president Rob Kostich in the earnings call meeting today, share the figures with the investors, which showed that the game generated over $1 Billion since its launch. It is important to note that COD Mobile is a free-to-play mobile game and all the earnings come directly from player spending which is the selling of loot boxes, battle passes, cosmetic items, etc.

COD Mobile still has a long way to go
The growth figures of the game show that it has performed excellently in the last few years. But we personally believe that the game is just starting to get traction. The developers are doing a perfect job; unlike other battle royale games that get a major update every 3-4 months here in Call of Duty Mobile, a new season is introduced every month, that keeps the players on the toes. This also encourages players to spend more on the battle pass and other cosmetic items.
To give you an idea to compare, PUBG Mobile, considered as the mobile game of the decade, has around 1 Billion Downloads since its launch in 2017. On the other hand, COD Mobile has already reached the halfway mark in half the time, so there is a long way for COD Mobile ahead. It looks like it might be on its way to become the no.1 mobile game in every aspect: earnings, download numbers, or active player numbers.
